Summer is here and vacations and travel. Traveling across country has never been easier with GPS devices for cars. Most new vehicle models have GPS navigation devices either as standard or optional equipment. Of course, the GPS devices are not much use without the maps to your destination. In most instances, the maps which came with the GPS device are limited to the immediate area of where they were sold. The “immediate area” is usually defined as the country or continent. The next country or other continent may or may not be included in the standard maps. It doesn’t make sense to have the maps of Eastern Europe if you live in Idaho or Nebraska for instance.
Additionally, the GPS navigation maps are continuously being updated and refined to show the latest changes in the landscape or city. These updates include restaurants, points of interest, inns, motels, hotels, resorts, etc. These new innovations are very much welcome for the seasoned traveler on the way to the regular summer holiday
